Programs

Internationality, Interdisciplinarity, Practicality

At Tama University School of Global Studies, students earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Global Studies while choosing a specialization in Hospitality Management or International Studies.

Foundation and Language Courses

In their first year, students build language skills, explore cultural studies and humanities, and strengthen their communication skills while becoming more aware of social issues locally and globally. International students and those with high-level English proficiency may also choose to enhance their skills through our Japanese language courses and foundation courses in culture and humanities, including Japanese Studies, offered in Japanese or English.

In their second year, students choose one of two academic tracks: Hospitality Management or International Studies.

Hospitality Management

In recent years, the growth of international travel and tourism has created increasing demand for professionals who can thrive in multicultural and multilingual environments. The Hospitality Management track equips students with the skills needed for careers in the tourism and service industries, such as tour conductors or hotel staff, while fostering a global perspective. Students also have the opportunity to learn about the unique strengths of Japanese hospitality.

International Studies

The world is increasingly interconnected through trade, travel, and cultural exchange. Today, professionals with a global perspective and multicultural understanding are needed to tackle global challenges and succeed in international business and diplomacy. The International Studies track equips students with practical business knowledge and a global outlook, preparing them for careers that connect Japan with the wider world. It is designed for those who want to understand global issues and contribute to solving challenges such as environmental and economic problems.
