Live and Learn in Japan
The School of Global Studies (SGS) is a small faculty established in 2007. Join us to explore global issues through small, discussion-based classes and personalized support from our faculty members. To support a diverse and international learning environment, the school offers a range of courses taught in Japanese only, bilingually (Japanese and English) and English only, in both general education and specialized fields.
Our campus is located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, approximately 40 minutes from Yokohama and one hour from central Tokyo. Experience the cultural diversity of contemporary Japan with easy access to the vibrant metropolis of Tokyo, the cosmopolitan charm of Yokohama, and the historic beauty of Kamakura. All are within easy reach of our campus, just a short train ride from Shonandai Station.
General Education
In their first year, students follow a liberal arts curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, including Japanese Studies. Depending on their proficiency levels, students take the Academic English Program and/or Japanese language courses. By encouraging Japanese-speaking students to improve their English and international students to learn Japanese, we aim to foster diversity, equity, and meaningful intercultural communication across our campus community.

Specialized Tracks
- Beginning in the second year, students can choose between two specialized tracks:
- • The Hospitality Management track offers a comprehensive global perspective and develops professional expertise in tourism and hospitality through a combination of theoretical and practical learning.
- • The International Studies track provides a broad interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates the study of International Business and International Relations.
Double Degree
Students have the opportunity to earn a double degree through our academic partnership with the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS) in Lucerne, Switzerland. Those who meet the program requirements may complete three years of study at SGS and one year at BHMS, earning bachelor’s degrees from both institutions upon graduation.
