School Overview
School of Global Studies (SGS)
The School of Global Studies (SGS) is a small, liberal arts faculty of Tama University. It currently has about 600 students in attendance and is located in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, about 40 minutes from Yokohama and about an hour from central Tokyo. At SGS students can receive a bilingual liberal arts education in both English and Japanese while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies. The three specific fields of study are Hospitality Management, Global Business, and International Development. Basically, Courses at SGS are taught in English with Japanese support. However, as we feel that learning another language is part of a true liberal arts education; a number of courses, including Japanese language courses, are also taught in Japanese for both Japanese and international students. SGS is also unique because of its small, interactive classes, professors’ close relationships with students and a comfortable, close-knit campus.
