Facts About Tama University
Outline and History of Tama University
The main campus of Tama University is located in Tama City in western Tokyo, surrounded by nature. It has only one undergraduate faculty, Management and Information Sciences, with 300 students in each grade. Tama University was founded in 1988 under Tamura Gakuen, a school corporation. We have actively promoted educational reform to meet social demands by setting up the Management and Information Sciences part-time graduate school in 1993 and establishing the Renaissance Center in 2002.
About 60 part-time graduate students are yearly enrolled in the master course.
We have three campuses located in Tama, Shinagawa, and Meguro. The Tama Campus is equipped with the latest presentation equipment in all classrooms regardless of size. Furthermore, all students can access the Internet through wireless LAN using personal computers distributed by the university. The cafeteria "Felica," which commands a complete view of the Tama Hills, is very popular among students and offers a variety of fresh-baked handmade breads and cakes.
The Shinagawa and Meguro campuses are very accessible from the center of Tokyo. Moreover, they offer various programs in which students and other members of society can participate, such as job hunting support and seminars for undergraduate students.
